Dear Courtney,
So much, it seems, is misunderstood about the past and future. We fret and worry about where we will live, what we will do for work, who we will love. Ask yourself, “what do I want present now?” and live for that moment. As you look out on time’s horizon, envision it as a sketch that will be painted in by moments lived now. For the future is merely a collection of possible present moments, and the sacrifices we make now will be revealed not in the future, which is always out of reach, but in the present. So, in this moment don’t be afraid of the sacrifices, or the past, or the future. Instead, do your best to work, live, and love right now.
With Love,
