Reasoned Abandon
I feel the need to clarify what I meant in a recent tweet: http://twitter.com/raydirector/status/3442535627 Reckless abandon can, and often does, get one into trouble. I believe the nature of reasoned abandon, however, is such that you recognize your desires, what ever they may be, and choose to plung in after checking to see that the pool isn’t filled with knives, or is completely empty. Definitely abandon yourself to your passions, but make sure in doing so you don’t make things FUBAR. My problem in the past has been that even after I check to see if it’s relatively safe, I still don’t jump in. Follow your passion, your bliss, don’t fear failure—which will come at some point or another, but won’t prohibit you from gaining success—and by the divine grace of God, the universe will see you through.
