The backwards chronology of this story was very interesting in the beginning, but once page 90 or so came along, I was exhausted with the world seen in reverse. This until I arrived with my narrator in a German concentration camp and all the pain of a life lived toward one of humanity’s greatest tragedies was witnessed. It ended on a rather beautiful note, but with the sad realization that if this story, after being rewound, was played in forward motion the conclusion would be one of great sorrow.
