Metaphors

Using wound metaphors to describe love—of which I’ve been guilty—is overly simplistic and, at times, makes me want to vomit. There has to be a better way to get at the all encompassing feeling of pain that one feels in the wake of lost love than resorting to overly embellished, adolescent poppycock.
